Pennypip Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and WileyWorx LLC. By using Pennypip, you agree to them.

1. Who can use it

Pennypip is for adults 18 and older in the United States. If you are under 18, do not use it. We do not knowingly let a child use the app.

2. Education, not advice

Pennypip teaches personal finance and economics in short lessons. Lessons explain what the tools are. They do not tell you what to buy, sell, borrow, or do with your money.

This is education. It is not financial, tax, legal, credit, or investment advice. It is not a recommendation. Example numbers, practice scores, and practice accounts are examples on your phone. They are not your real accounts, and they are not a quote.

3. Accounts and the iCloud backup

You can take lessons without creating an account. Your lessons, XP, and streak stay on the device.

On iPhone, if iCloud is on, a copy of that progress can sit in your own iCloud key-value storage. WileyWorx cannot see that copy. iCloud is optional. If it is off, progress stays on the phone, and the app still works.

A handle is optional. If you turn a public profile on, other people can see the handle, avatar, level, XP, streak, badges, and course progress. They do not see your name, age, income, or city. Your name stays on the device.

4. Subscriptions

Lessons are free. Plus is optional. It removes friction in the app. It does not pay you.

Plus is billed by Apple, through your Apple ID. WileyWorx does not see your card. The annual plan can start with a free trial of 14 days, then the price shown in the App Store. The monthly plan has no free trial. The prices in the app today are $6.99 a month or $47.99 a year. Apple charges the price shown when you subscribe.

The subscription renews on its own unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. To cancel: iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Pennypip Plus. This app cannot cancel the subscription. Refunds go through Apple. Deleting your account, or deleting the app, does not cancel Plus.

5. Ads

The free version can show a rewarded ad only when you choose to watch one. Two completed ads can return one life. One ad can retry a failed check. No ad plays during a lesson or a quiz. Plus does not request ads.

The reward stays inside the app. It is not cash, a gift card, or anything you can turn into money. If you say no to Apple's tracking prompt, the ad can still play, and it is not personalized. Allowing tracking does not unlock a lesson, XP, or a freeze.

6. What you post

You can choose a handle and, if you want, a photo. You keep ownership of that handle and that photo.

You give WileyWorx a license to store them and to display them inside the app: the handle on a public profile and on leaderboards, if you turn those on, and the photo on your own device. A photo stays visible only to you until it passes a review. This build does not show your photo to other people.

You will not impersonate someone else. You will not post hate, sexual content, or harassment. We may remove a handle or a photo, and we may stop a person from posting, when they break these rules.

7. Reporting and blocking

From another person's profile you can report them or block them. A report asks us to look. A block hides that person from you. Blocking does not by itself delete their account.

8. Acceptable use

Do not scrape the lessons, cheat a leaderboard, or reverse engineer the app. Do not use the app to break the law. Do not try to read someone else's progress.

9. Lessons and Penny

The lessons, Penny, and the app belong to WileyWorx LLC. You get a personal right to use the app. You do not get a right to copy the lessons, copy Penny, or sell either one.

10. Disclaimers and limits on liability

The app is provided as it is. We do not promise that a lesson is complete, or that a score, a streak, or an example will match your life. To the extent the law allows, WileyWorx is not liable for a decision you make after a lesson, or for progress lost if a phone or iCloud fails.

11. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we will update the date above and tell you in the app. If you keep using the app after that, the new terms apply.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Montana, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
